QUICK LESSONS:
Fast during ashurah

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Aishah states that the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to fast on the day of Ashura, and he also encouraged others to do so. This is a significant day in Islamic history as it marks many important events such as when Allah saved Musa and his people from Pharaoh, or when Allah accepted Adam's repentance after he was expelled from Paradise. Therefore, fasting on this day is seen as an act of gratitude for all these blessings. Additionally, fasting can be seen as a way for Muslims to remember their past and strive towards bettering themselves in order to gain Allah's pleasure. It is also believed that those who fast on this day will be rewarded with forgiveness for their sins. Thus, fasting on this special occasion serves both spiritual and physical purposes; it helps Muslims become closer to God while also providing them with health benefits such as weight loss or improved digestion.
