The Rewards of Fasting Six Days of Shawwal

SUMMARY: Fasting for six days of Shawwal after Ramadan is equivalent to fasting for a lifetime.

It was narrated from Abu Ayyub that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever fasts Ramadan then follows it with six days of Shawwal, it is as if he fasted for a lifetime".

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast during Ramadan and follow it with 6 days in Shawwal.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Abu Ayyub states that whoever fasts during the month of Ramadan and follows it with six days in the month of Shawwal will be rewarded as if they have fasted for a lifetime. This means that the reward one receives from fasting these six days is equal to the reward one would receive from fasting an entire year. This hadith emphasizes how important it is to take advantage of this opportunity and reap its rewards. It also encourages us to strive towards doing good deeds and earning Allah's pleasure through our actions.
