The Rewards of Fasting Three Days Every Month

SUMMARY: Fasting three days in every month is equivalent to fasting for a lifetime and Allah will reward it with ten times the like thereof.

It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah said: "Whoever fasts three days in every month, that is fasting for a lifetime". Then, in testimony of that, Allah revealed: "Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten time the like thereof to his credit". 6:160 So one day is equivalent to ten (in reward).

QUICK LESSONS:
Fast 3 days each month
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the rewards of fasting three days in every month. It was narrated from Abu Dharr that the Messenger of Allah said, “Whoever fasts three days in every month, that is fasting for a lifetime”. This means that if someone fasts three days each month, then they are considered to have fasted their entire life. In addition to this, Allah revealed a verse as testimony to this statement which states “Whoever brings a good deed shall have ten time the like thereof to his credit” [ 6:160 ]. This means that one day of fasting is equivalent to ten days worth of reward from Allah. Therefore, by fasting just three days each month we can reap great rewards from our Lord and be rewarded for our efforts throughout our lives.
