Seeking Help in Times of Need

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad was facing death and asked Allah for help to bear the pain.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "I saw the Messenger of Allah when he was dying, and there was a bowl of water next to him. He put his hand in the vessel and wiped his face with the water, and said: 'O Allah, help me to bear the agonies of death.’"
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا لَيْثُ بْنُ سَعْدٍ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ أَبِي حَبِيبٍ، عَنْ مُوسَى بْنِ سَرْجِسَ، عَنِ الْقَاسِمِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ عَائِشَةَ، قَالَتْ رَأَيْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ ـ ـ وَهُوَ يَمُوتُ وَعِنْدَهُ قَدَحٌ فِيهِ مَاءٌ فَيُدْخِلُ يَدَهُ فِي الْقَدَحِ ثُمَّ يَمْسَحُ وَجْهَهُ بِالْمَاءِ ثُمَّ يَقُولُ: ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ أَعِنِّي عَلَى سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Aishah tells us about the Prophet Muhammad's last moments before his death. He was in a lot of pain and agony but he still remembered to ask Allah for help to bear it. This teaches us that no matter how difficult our situation is or how much we are suffering from it, we should always turn to Allah and seek His help. We should never forget that He is the only one who can truly provide us with relief from our troubles. It also shows us that even when faced with death itself, we should remain steadfast in our faith and trust in Allah's mercy and compassion.
