Sunan Ibn Majah 1093 (Book 5, Hadith 291) #30445
The Rewards of Coming Early to the Mosque on Fridays

SUMMARY: Friday is a special day and those who come to the mosque early will be rewarded.

It was narrated from Samurah bin Jundab that the Messenger of Allah described the likeness of Friday, saying that those who come earliest are like the one who sacrifices a camel, then like one who sacrifices a cow, then like one who sacrifices a sheep, until he made mention of a chicken.

QUICK LESSONS:
Come early for congregational prayer on Fridays.

EXPLANATIONS:
Every week, Muslims around the world gather in mosques for their weekly congregational prayer on Fridays. This hadith tells us that those who come early to the mosque on Fridays will be rewarded. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ compared this reward to sacrificing an animal, starting with a camel and ending with a chicken. This means that those who come first are more highly rewarded than those who come later, but everyone still gets some reward for coming at all! It is important for us as Muslims to remember this and make sure we attend our weekly congregational prayers in order to reap these rewards from Allah ï·».
