The Rewards of Coming Early to Friday Prayer

SUMMARY: On the Day of Resurrection, people will be rewarded according to how early they came to Friday prayer.

It was narrated that 'Alqamah said: "I went out with 'Abdullah to Friday (prayer), and he found three men who arrived before him. He said: 'The fourth of four, and the fourth of four is not far away. I heard the Messenger of Allah say: "On the Day of Resurrection people will gather near Allah according to how early they came to Friday (prayer), the first, second, and third.’" Then he said: 'The fourth of four, and the fourth of four is not far away.’"

QUICK LESSONS:
Come early for prayers

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of coming early for Jumu’ah prayer. It was narrated by Alqamah and Abdullah that the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said that on the Day of Resurrection, people will gather near Allah according to how early they came to Jumu’ah prayer. He also said that “the fourth of four, and the fourth of four is not far away” which means that even if one comes late for Jumu’ah prayer, he/she will still be rewarded as long as it is within a reasonable time frame. This hadith teaches us about being punctual in our religious obligations and encourages us to come early for prayers so we can reap its rewards in this life and in the hereafter.
