Learning from the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) liked the Muhajirun and Ansar to stand close to him so they could learn from him.

It was narrated that Anas said: "The Messenger of Allah liked the Muhajirun and Ansar to stand closest to him, so that they could learn from him".
حَدَّثَنَا نَصْرُ بْنُ عَلِيٍّ الْجَهْضَمِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْوَهَّابِ، حَدَّثَنَا حُمَيْدٌ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ يُحِبُّ أَنْ يَلِيَهُ الْمُهَاجِرُونَ وَالأَنْصَارُ، لِيَأْخُذُوا عَنْهُ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith of Anas ibn Malik tells us that the Messenger of Allah, peace be upon him, liked the Muhajirun and Ansar to stand closest to him. This was so that they could learn from his teachings and gain knowledge. It is important for us as Muslims to take advantage of any opportunity we have to learn more about our faith and its teachings. We should strive to seek out knowledge wherever we can find it in order for us to become better Muslims. Additionally, this hadith also teaches us about the importance of being humble and respectful when learning from others; by standing close together with those who are knowledgeable we can show our respect for them while also gaining valuable insight into our faith.
