Avoiding Satanic Behaviors During Prayer

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ warned against certain behaviors that are from Satan, such as spitting, blowing one's nose, menstruating and drowsiness during prayer.

It was narrated from 'Adi bin Thabit, from his father, from his grandfather, that the Prophet said: "Spitting, blowing one’s nose, menstruating and drowsiness during the prayer are from Satan".
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا الْفَضْلُ بْنُ دُكَيْنٍ، عَنْ شَرِيكٍ، عَنْ أَبِي الْيَقْظَانِ، عَنْ عَدِيِّ بْنِ ثَابِتٍ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ جَدِّهِ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ ـ ـ قَالَ ‏ "‏ الْبُزَاقُ وَالْمُخَاطُ وَالْحَيْضُ وَالنُّعَاسُ فِي الصَّلاَةِ مِنَ الشَّيْطَانِ

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith the Prophet Muhammad is warning us against certain behaviors that are associated with Satan. These include spitting, blowing one's nose, menstruating and drowsiness during prayer. It is important to remember that these activities can be distracting and disrespectful when done during prayer time. Therefore it is important to take care of these activities before or after praying so as not to disrupt the concentration of those around you or your own concentration while praying. Additionally it is important to remember that all of our actions should be done in a respectful manner towards Allah and those around us at all times.
