Sunan Ibn Majah 624 (Book 1, Hadith 358) #29976
Continuous Bleeding & Prayer

SUMMARY: The hadith is about a woman who has continuous bleeding and the Prophet (PBUH) advises her to not give up prayer and instead take a bath and perform ablution for each prayer.

It was narrated that 'Aishah said: "Fatimah bint Abi Hubaish came to the Prophet: 'O Messenger of Allah! I am a woman who bleeds continuously and never becomes pure. Should I give up prayer?' he said: 'No, that is just a vein and is not menstruation. Do not perform prayer during the days of your period, then take a bath, and perform ablution for each prayer, even if drops of blood fall on the mat'."

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about a woman who came to the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ asking if she should give up prayer due to her continuous bleeding. The Prophet ﷺ advised her that it was just a vein, not menstruation, so she should not give up prayer but instead take a bath and perform ablution for each prayer even if drops of blood fall on the mat. This hadith teaches us that we should never give up our prayers no matter what obstacles come in our way. It also teaches us that we must always be mindful of cleanliness when performing prayers by taking baths regularly and performing ablutions before every prayer even if there are traces of blood left behind from previous prayers. We must also remember that Allah will reward us for our efforts in maintaining cleanliness during our prayers as well as for being steadfast in fulfilling our religious obligations despite any difficulties or hardships we may face.
