This hadith is about Jarir bin 'Abdullah who saw the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) performing ablution and wiping over his leather socks. The people were pleased with this Hadith because it was accepted after the revelation of Ma’idah. In Islam, ablution is an important ritual that must be performed before prayer or any other religious activities. It involves washing certain parts of the body such as hands, face, arms up to elbows, head and feet up to ankles with water or using sand if water is not available. After completing this ritual one can wipe over their leather socks instead of washing their feet again if they are wearing them during ablution. This hadith shows us that we should follow what our beloved Prophet did in order to gain Allah's pleasure and reward in this life and hereafter.
