Kindness and Generosity towards Non-Muslim Parents

SUMMARY: The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught us to be kind and generous to our parents, even if they are not Muslim.

وَعَنِ الزُّهْرِيِّ، أَنَّهُ سَمِعَ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، حَدَّثَنَا الصَّعْبُ، فِي الذَّرَارِيِّ كَانَ عَمْرٌو يُحَدِّثُنَا عَنِ ابْنِ شِهَابٍ، عَنِ النَّبِيِّ فَسَمِعْنَاهُ مِنَ الزُّهْرِيِّ، قَالَ أَخْبَرَنِي عُبَيْدُ اللَّهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، عَنِ الصَّعْبِ، قَالَ ‏"‏ هُمْ مِنْهُمْ ‏"‏ وَلَمْ يَقُلْ كَمَا قَالَ عَمْرٌو ‏"‏ هُمْ مِنْ آبَائِهِمْ

EXPLANATIONS:
In this hadith, the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ teaches us about the importance of being kind and generous to our parents, even if they are not Muslims. He said that we should treat them with respect and kindness no matter what their beliefs may be. We should never forget that our parents have done so much for us in our lives, so it is important to show them love and appreciation in return. This hadith also teaches us about the importance of respecting other people's beliefs, regardless of whether or not we agree with them. We should always strive to maintain a peaceful relationship with those around us by showing kindness and generosity towards all people.
