Killing Women and Children is Prohibited

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) disapproved of the killing of women and children during battles.

Narrated 'Abdullah: During some of the ghazwah ( Battle ) of the Prophet a woman was found killed. Allah's Messenger disapproved the killing of women and children.
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ يُونُسَ، أَخْبَرَنَا اللَّيْثُ، عَنْ نَافِعٍ، أَنَّ عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ـ رضى الله عنه ـ أَخْبَرَهُ أَنَّ امْرَأَةً وُجِدَتْ فِي بَعْضِ مَغَازِي النَّبِيِّ مَقْتُولَةً، فَأَنْكَرَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ قَتْلَ النِّسَاءِ وَالصِّبْيَانِ‏.‏
