Seeking Help from Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet ﷺ was instructed to ask Allah for a good entry and exit, as well as a helping authority.

Narrated Ibn 'Abbas: "The Prophet was in Makkah, then Hijrah was ordered, so the following was revealed to him: Say: 'My Lord! Let my entry be good, and likewise my exit be good. And grant me from You a helping authority (17:80)'."
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا جَرِيرٌ، عَنْ قَابُوسِ بْنِ أَبِي ظَبْيَانَ، عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنِ ابْنِ عَبَّاسٍ، قَالَ كَانَ النَّبِيُّ بِمَكَّةَ ثُمَّ أُمِرَ بِالْهِجْرَةِ فَنَزَلَتْ عَلَيْهِ ‏:‏ ‏(‏ قُلْ رَبِّ أَدْخِلْنِي مُدْخَلَ صِدْقٍ وَأَخْرِجْنِي مُخْرَجَ صِدْقٍ وَاجْعَلْ لِي مِنْ لَدُنْكَ سُلْطَانًا نَصِيرًا ‏)‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet's instruction to ask Allah for help in all aspects of life. The Prophet was in Makkah when he received the revelation to make hijrah, or migrate, and asked Allah for a good entry and exit from his home city. He also asked for help from Allah in the form of an authority that would assist him on his journey. This hadith teaches us that we should always seek help from God in all matters of life, no matter how big or small they may be. We should trust that God will provide us with what we need if we sincerely ask Him for it.
