The Special Friendship of Prophet Muhammad and Ibrahim

SUMMARY: Every Prophet has a special friend among the Prophets, and for Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) his special friend is Prophet Ibrahim.

Narrated 'Abdullah: that the Messenger of Allah said: "Every Prophet had a Wali among the Prophets. My Wali is my father Ibrahim the Khalil of my Lord". Then he recited: Verily among mankind who have the best claim to Ibrahim, are those who followed him, and this Prophet and those who have believed. EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the special friendship between two prophets - Prophet Muhammad and his ancestor, Prophet Ibrahim. It is narrated by Abdullah that the Messenger of Allah said that every prophet has a wali or protector among the prophets. In this case, the wali of our beloved prophet is none other than his ancestor - Ibrahim who was also known as 'Khalil' or 'friend' of Allah. The hadith then goes on to recite a verse from Quran which states that those who follow in the footsteps of Ibrahim have a strong claim to him and Allah will be their protector too. This hadith teaches us about how important it is to have faith in God's plan for us and how we should strive to follow in the footsteps of our ancestors so we can be closer to God too.
