The Power of Thinking and Calling Upon Allah

SUMMARY: Allah is with us when we call upon Him and He is as we think of Him.

Abu Hurairah narrated that the Messenger of Allah (s.a.w) said: "Indeed Allah Most High says: 'I am as My slave thinks of Me, and I am with him when He calls upon Me'."
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو كُرَيْبٍ، حَدَّثَنَا وَكِيعٌ، عَنْ جَعْفَرِ بْنِ بُرْقَانَ، عَنْ يَزِيدَ بْنِ الأَصَمِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ اللَّهَ يَقُولُ أَنَا عِنْدَ ظَنِّ عَبْدِي فِيَّ وَأَنَا مَعَهُ إِذَا دَعَانِي ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ صَحِيحٌ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith teaches us that our thoughts about Allah have a great impact on our relationship with Him. We should strive to think positively about Him, for He will be as we think of Him. Additionally, this hadith encourages us to call upon Allah in times of need, for He will be with us when we do so. It is important to remember that no matter how difficult the situation may seem, if we turn to Allah in prayer and supplication, He will answer our prayers and help us through it. This hadith also reminds us that even though it may seem like no one else can help or understand what we are going through, if we turn to the One who created everything then surely He will listen and respond in the best way possible.
