Abstaining from the Worldly Life

SUMMARY: Abstinence in the world is not about depriving oneself of lawful things or neglecting wealth, but rather it is about having more faith in Allah and being hopeful for the rewards that come with afflictions.

Abu Dharr narrated that the Prophet (s.a.w) said: "Abstinence in the world is not by prohibiting (oneself) the lawful nor by neglecting wealth , but abstinence in the world is that you not hold more firmly to what is in your hand than to what is in the hand of Allah, and that you be more hopeful of the rewards that come with an affliction that you may suffer if it remain with you".

QUICK LESSONS:
Have faith in God , Be patient during hardships , Be grateful for blessings .

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith explains that true abstinence from worldly life does not mean depriving oneself of lawful things or neglecting wealth, but rather it is about having more faith in Allah and being hopeful for the rewards that come with afflictions. It teaches us to be content with what we have and to trust in Allah's plan for us. We should remember that whatever hardships we face are part of a greater plan by Allah, and if we remain patient through them, He will reward us greatly. We should also remember to be grateful for all our blessings as they are gifts from Him. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to always put our trust in Allah no matter what situation we find ourselves in; this hadith serves as a reminder of this important lesson.
