Beware of Satan's Tricks

SUMMARY: We should be aware of the tricks of Satan and take responsibility for our own actions.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: That the Messenger of Allah said: "Indeed Ash-Shaitan has a sense of taste, for which he licks, so beware of him. So whoever spends the night with a smell on his hand and something happens to him, then let him not blame anyone but himself". Abu 'Eisa said: This Hadith is Gharib from this route. It has also been reported in a narration of Suhail bin Abi Salih, from his father, from Abu Hurairah, from the Prophet .
حَدَّثَنَا أَحْمَدُ بْنُ مَنِيعٍ، حَدَّثَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ الْوَلِيدِ الْمَدَنِيُّ، عَنِ ابْنِ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنِ الْمَقْبُرِيِّ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ إِنَّ الشَّيْطَانَ حَسَّاسٌ لَحَّاسٌ فَاحْذَرُوهُ عَلَى أَنْفُسِكُمْ مَنْ بَاتَ وَفِي يَدِهِ رِيحُ غَمَرٍ فَأَصَابَهُ شَيْءٌ فَلاَ يَلُومَنَّ إِلاَّ نَفْسَهُ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ غَرِيبٌ مِنْ هَذَا الْوَجْهِ ‏.‏ وَقَدْ رُوِيَ مِنْ حَدِيثِ سُهَيْلِ بْنِ أَبِي صَالِحٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ عَنِ النَّبِيِّ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is narrated by Abu Hurairah, a companion of Prophet Muhammad. It tells us that we should be aware of the tricks and schemes of Shaitan, or Satan. The Prophet Muhammad said that Shaitan has a sense of taste which he uses to lure people into sinning. He warned us to be careful and take responsibility for our own actions so that if something bad happens, we cannot blame anyone else but ourselves. This hadith teaches us to stay away from anything that could lead us astray and reminds us to always take responsibility for our own decisions and actions in life.
