The Best Udhiyah Sacrifice

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised people to buy Jadha' sheep for their Udhiyah sacrifice.

Narrated Abu Kibash: "I brought a Jadha' sheep to Al-Madinah (for sale) but it remained with me. I saw Abu Hurairah and I asked him about it, so he said: 'I heard the Messenger of Allah saying: "The best male" - or - "female Udhiyah is that from the Jadha' sheep". He said: "So the people took note of that (they became interested in buying)".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of sacrificing an animal during Eid al-Adha, which is known as an 'Udhiyah'. According to the Prophet Muhammad, the best type of animal to sacrifice is a Jadha’ sheep. A Jadha’ sheep is a type of small, white-colored sheep that was popular in Arabia at the time. It was said that when Abu Kibash brought one such sheep to Medina for sale, many people became interested in buying it after hearing what the Prophet had said about it being the best type of animal for sacrificing on Eid al-Adha. This hadith teaches us that we should be mindful and careful when selecting our sacrificial animals and make sure they are healthy and fit for purpose so that we can fulfill our religious obligations properly.
