Prohibiting Animals with Canine Teeth

SUMMARY: The Prophet prohibited any animal that has canine teeth.

Narrated Abu Hurairah: "The Prophet prohibited every predator that possesses canine teeth".
حَدَّثَنَا قُتَيْبَةُ، حَدَّثَنَا عَبْدُ الْعَزِيزِ بْنُ مُحَمَّدٍ، عَنْ مُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، عَنْ أَبِي سَلَمَةَ، عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ حَرَّمَ كُلَّ ذِي نَابٍ مِنَ السِّبَاعِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو عِيسَى هَذَا حَدِيثٌ حَسَنٌ ‏.‏ وَالْعَمَلُ عَلَى هَذَا عِنْدَ أَكْثَرِ أَهْلِ الْعِلْمِ مِنْ أَصْحَابِ النَّبِيِّ وَغَيْرِهِمْ وَهُوَ قَوْلُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ الْمُبَارَكِ وَالشَّافِعِيِّ وَأَحْمَدَ وَإِسْحَاقَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the prohibition of animals that have canine teeth. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us to not keep any animals that have canine teeth as pets, such as dogs and wolves. This is because these animals can be dangerous and cause harm to people or other animals. He wanted us to be safe and protect ourselves from potential danger, so he prohibited keeping these types of animals as pets. We should also remember to treat all living creatures with kindness and respect, even if they are not our pets or companions.
