Add more when weighing goods for fairness in transactions

This hadith speaks about the virtue of adding more when weighing goods. It was narrated by Suwaid bin Qais that he and Makhrafah Al-'Abdi brought linens from Hajar and the Prophet came to them in bargain with some pants. There was someone with them who weighed the goods to determine its value and the Prophet asked him to weigh it and add more. This hadith has been reported by several narrators such as Jabir, Abu Huraira, Shu'bah and Simak from Abu Safwan which makes it a Hasan Sahih Hadith according to scholars of knowledge. Adding more when weighing is considered recommended or Mustahab in Islamic teachings as it ensures fairness in transactions between two parties involved in a deal or sale.
