QUICK LESSONS:
Treat your non-muslim parent with kindness & generosity .

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us the importance of being kind and generous to our parents, even if they are not Muslim. He said that we should treat them with respect and kindness, no matter what their beliefs may be. We should never forget that our parents have done so much for us in terms of providing for us, raising us, teaching us right from wrong, etc., so it is only right that we show them love and appreciation in return. This hadith also teaches us the importance of respecting other people's beliefs - even if we don't agree with them - as well as the value of family ties regardless of religious differences.
