Jami at-Tirmidhi 681 (Book 7, Hadith 65) #26246
The Labor of Asking

SUMMARY: Asking for something can be a laborious task, but it is necessary to ask for help from the ruler or when one cannot do without it.

Samurah bin Jundub narrated that : the Messenger of Allah said: "Asking is a labor that toils on a man's face, except if a man asks for something from the Sultan (ruler), or he asks for something that he cannot do without".

QUICK LESSONS:
Ask for help when needed and don't shy away from seeking assistance even if this means going to the Sultan or ruler.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the importance of asking for help when needed. It explains that asking can be a laborious task, but it is necessary to ask for help from the ruler or when one cannot do without it. The Prophet Muhammad ﷺ taught us that we should not shy away from asking for assistance if we need it, even if this means going to the Sultan or ruler. We should not feel ashamed in doing so as this is part of life and sometimes we need to rely on others in order to get what we need. This hadith also teaches us that there are times when our own efforts are not enough and so seeking help from those who have more power than us is essential in order to achieve our goals.
