Quickness in Work

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was surprised to see that the people were taking a long time to repair their cottage and suggested that they should be quicker in their work.

The tradition mentioned above has also been transmitted by al-A’mash through a different chain of narrators. This version has: The Messenger of Allah came upon me when we were repairing our cottage that was broken. He asked: What is this? We replied: This cottage of ours has broken and we are repairing it. The Messenger of Allah said: I see that the command is quicker than that.
