Efficiency and Quickness in Work

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As to be efficient and quick in his work.

Narrated Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As: The Messenger of Allah came upon us when my mother and I were plastering a wall of mine. He asked: What is this, Abdullah ? I replied: It is something I am repairing. He said! The matter is quicker for you than that.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسَدَّدُ بْنُ مُسَرْهَدٍ، حَدَّثَنَا حَفْصٌ، عَنِ الأَعْمَشِ، عَنْ أَبِي السَّفَرِ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، قَالَ مَرَّ بِي رَسُولُ اللَّهِ وَأَنَا أُطَيِّنُ حَائِطًا لِي أَنَا وَأُمِّي فَقَالَ ‏"‏ مَا هَذَا يَا عَبْدَ اللَّهِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقُلْتُ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ شَىْءٌ أُصْلِحُهُ فَقَالَ ‏"‏ الأَمْرُ أَسْرَعُ مِنْ ذَاكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was teaching a lesson of efficiency and quickness to Abdullah ibn Amr ibn al-'As. He saw that Abdullah was plastering a wall, so he asked him what he was doing. When Abdullah replied that he was repairing something, the Prophet said that the matter could be done quicker than that. This hadith teaches us the importance of being efficient and quick when it comes to our work, as it is an important part of being productive. We should strive to complete our tasks quickly without compromising on quality or accuracy. It also shows us how much attention the Prophet paid to even small details like this, which is an example for us all to follow in our own lives.
