Covering Mouth When Sneezing

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us to cover our mouth when we sneeze and to lessen the noise.

Narrated AbuHurayrah: When the Messenger of Allah sneezed, he placed his hand or a garment on his mouth, and lessened the noise. The transmitter Yahya is doubtful about the exact words khafada or ghadda (lessened).

QUICK LESSONS:
Cover your mouth when you feel like sneezing
EXPLANATIONS:
The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught us an important lesson about sneezing. Whenever we sneeze, it is important that we cover our mouth with either our hand or a garment and try to lessen the noise. This is a sign of respect for those around us and shows that we are mindful of their presence. It also helps prevent germs from spreading in the air which can be harmful for others. We should always remember this lesson whenever we feel like sneezing in public or around other people so that they don't get disturbed by it.
