Sahih al-Bukhari 2635 (Book 51, Hadith 67) #2521
Accepting Gifts with Gratitude

SUMMARY: Abraham and Sarah migrated to a new town, where the people gave them a slave-girl named Hajar as a gift. Sarah was displeased with this gift, but Abraham accepted it.

Narrated Abu Huraira: Allah's Messenger said, "The Prophet Abraham migrated with Sarah. The people (of the town where they migrated) gave her Ajar (ie Hajar). Sarah returned and said to Abraham, "Do you know that Allah has humiliated that pagan and he has given a slave-girl for my service?"

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about Prophet Abraham and his wife Sarah's migration to a new town. The people of the town gave them a slave-girl named Hajar as a gift. Sarah was displeased with this gift, but Prophet Abraham accepted it with gratitude. This hadith teaches us that we should accept gifts from others graciously and not be ungrateful for what we receive from others. We should always remember that Allah has given us so much in life and we should be thankful for all of His blessings no matter how small they may seem to us at times.
