The Value of Keeping Your Word

SUMMARY: It is important to keep your word and be trustworthy.

Narrated Jabir ibn Abdullah: The Prophet said: When a man tells something and then departs, it is a trust.
حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو بَكْرِ بْنُ أَبِي شَيْبَةَ، حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى بْنُ آدَمَ، حَدَّثَنَا ابْنُ أَبِي ذِئْبٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ بْنِ عَطَاءٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الْمَلِكِ بْنِ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَتِيكٍ، عَنْ جَابِرِ بْنِ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ ‏ "‏ إِذَا حَدَّثَ الرَّجُلُ بِالْحَدِيثِ ثُمَّ الْتَفَتَ فَهِيَ أَمَانَةٌ
