Sunan Abi Dawud 4718 (Book 42, Hadith 123) #25009
Accountability for One's Own Actions

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that everyone will be held accountable for their own actions and will not be able to rely on the good deeds of others.

Anas said : A man asked : where is my father, Messenger of Allah? He replied! Your father is in Hell. When he turned his back, he said : My father and your father are in Hell.

QUICK LESSONS:
Seek forgiveness from Allah .
EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas ibn Malik teaches us an important lesson about accountability. It tells us that each person is responsible for their own actions and cannot rely on the good deeds of others to save them from punishment. This means that even if someone’s father or other family members have done wrong, they will still be held accountable for their own wrongdoings and cannot use the good deeds of others as a way out. This hadith also reminds us to seek forgiveness from Allah, as only He can forgive our sins and grant us salvation in the hereafter.
