Charity as Sadaqa and Gift

SUMMARY: The Prophet (ﷺ) taught that charity given to someone is a form of sadaqa for them, but if it is given to the Prophet (ﷺ) and his companions, it is considered a gift.

Narrated Anas bin Malik: Some meat was brought to the Prophet and it was said that the meat had been given in charity to Barirah. He said, "It was Sadaqa for Barirah but a gift for us".

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith narrated by Anas bin Malik teaches us about the importance of charity. The Prophet (ﷺ) said that when something is given in charity to someone else, it is considered sadaqa for them. However, if something is given in charity to the Prophet (ﷺ) or his companions, then it should be considered a gift instead. This hadith emphasizes the importance of giving in charity and how we should treat those who receive our donations with respect and kindness. It also shows us how we should appreciate gifts from others even if they are not as valuable as what we give away in charity. We can learn from this hadith that giving in charity can be an act of worship and kindness towards others while also being beneficial for ourselves spiritually.
