Sunan Abi Dawud 3523 (Book 24, Hadith 108) #23813
Entitlement to Property in Insolvency and Death

SUMMARY: If someone becomes insolvent or dies, the seller of the property is more entitled to it than others.

Umar ibn Khaldah said: We came to AbuHurayrah who had become insolvent. He said: I shall decide between you on the basis of the decision of the Messenger of Allah : If anyone becomes insolvent or dies and the man (the seller) finds his very property with him, he is more entitled to it (than others).

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about what happens when someone becomes insolvent or dies and has property with them. The seller of the property is more entitled to it than anyone else. This means that if a person buys something from another person, they have a right to that item even if the other person goes bankrupt or passes away. It teaches us that we should be honest in our dealings and respect each other's rights even after death. It also shows us how important it is for us to take care of our possessions and not let them fall into wrong hands.
