Sunan Abi Dawud 3412 (Book 23, Hadith 87) #23702
Generosity and Kindness in Conquest

SUMMARY: The Prophet (PBUH) was generous and kind to the people of Khaibar when he conquered them, taking on the job of picking the fruit himself and giving half of it to them.

Narrated Miqsam: When the Prophet conquered Khaibar. He then narrated it like the tradition of Zaid (b. Abu al-Zarqa'). This version has: He then assessed the produce of the palm-trees and said: I take the job of picking the fruit myself, and I shall give you half of (the amount) I said.

QUICK LESSONS:
Showing kindness even in victory .

EXPLANATIONS:
When Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) conquered Khaibar, he showed great generosity and kindness towards its people. He took on the job of picking the fruit himself, instead of delegating it to someone else. He then gave half of what he picked to those who lived there as a sign of his generosity. This hadith teaches us that even in times when we are victorious over our enemies, we should still show kindness and mercy towards them. We should not take advantage or be cruel just because we have power over them; rather, we should be generous with our resources so that everyone can benefit from it equally. This is an important lesson for all Muslims today - no matter how powerful or successful you become, always remember to share your blessings with others!
