Dividing Khaybar Amongst People

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) divided the land of Khaybar among the people of al-Hudaybiyyah, giving double share to the horsemen and a single share to the footmen.

Narrated Mujammi' ibn Jariyah al-Ansari,: Khaybar was divided among the people of al-Hudaybiyyah. The Messenger of Allah divided it into eighteen portions. The army contained one thousand and five hundred people. There were three hundred horsemen among them. He gave double share to the horsemen, and a single to the footmen.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be fair in distributing resources; Value hard work; Be generous with your resources; Distribute resources equally among others.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about how Prophet Muhammad PBUH divided the land of Khyber amongst his people. He gave double share to those who rode horses and a single share to those who walked on foot. This shows us that he was fair in his distribution and did not favor one group over another. It also teaches us that we should be generous with our resources and not hoard them for ourselves but rather distribute them fairly among others. Furthermore, it teaches us that we should value hard work regardless of whether it is done by riding or walking on foot as both are equally important in achieving success.
