This hadith is about the marriage of Umm Habibah to the Prophet. The Negus was a ruler in Abyssinia who married her off to the prophet and gave her a dower of four thousand Dirhams. This hadith teaches us that marriage is an important part of life and should be taken seriously. It also shows us that it is important for both parties involved in a marriage to agree on terms such as dowry or mahr before entering into it. Furthermore, this hadith also shows us that even though we may not have much money or resources at our disposal we can still make sure that our marriages are conducted with respect and dignity by setting out clear terms beforehand.
