Prayer in the Farewell Pilgrimage

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) led two rak'ahs of prayer in the Farewell Pilgrimage at Mina with a large gathering of people.

Narrated Harithah ibn Wahb al-Khuza'i,: I prayed along with the Messenger of Allah at Mina and the people gathered there in large numbers. He led us two rak'ahs in prayer in the Farewell Pilgrimage. Abu Dawud said: Harithah belonged to the tribe of Khuza'ah, and they had their houses in Mecca.
حَدَّثَنَا النُّفَيْلِيُّ، حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، حَدَّثَنِي حَارِثَةُ بْنُ وَهْبٍ الْخُزَاعِيُّ، - وَكَانَتْ أُمُّهُ تَحْتَ عُمَرَ فَوَلَدَتْ لَهُ عُبَيْدَ اللَّهِ بْنَ عُمَرَ - قَالَ صَلَّيْتُ خَلْفَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ بِمِنًى وَالنَّاسُ أَكْثَرُ مَا كَانُوا فَصَلَّى بِنَا رَكْعَتَيْنِ فِي حَجَّةِ الْوَدَاعِ ‏.‏ قَالَ أَبُو دَاوُدَ حَارِثَةُ مِنْ خُزَاعَةَ وَدَارُهُمْ بِمَكَّةَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's (PBUH) leading of two rak'ahs of prayer during the Farewell Pilgrimage at Mina. During this pilgrimage, a large number of people gathered to pray alongside him. Harithah ibn Wahb al-Khuza’i was one such person who narrated this hadith and belonged to the tribe Khuza’a, which had their houses in Mecca. This hadith teaches us that it is important for Muslims to come together and pray as a community, as well as to take part in religious pilgrimages such as Hajj. It also shows us how important it is for us to follow our beloved Prophet's example and emulate his actions whenever possible.
