The Reward of Charity

SUMMARY: A woman gave a slave girl as charity to her mother, and upon her mother's death, the Prophet Muhammad (SAWS) declared that the woman would receive a reward for her charity and that the slave girl would be returned to her.

Buraidah said A woman came to the Messenger of Allah (SAWS) and said I gave a slave girl as sadaqah to my mother who has now died and has left that slave girl. He said your reward is sure and the inheritance has given her back to you.

QUICK LESSONS:
Give in charity
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of giving charity. It tells us that when we give something away in charity, even if it is something small or insignificant, we will still be rewarded for it. Furthermore, this hadith also speaks about inheritance laws; it tells us that when someone dies and leaves behind an item or property as part of their inheritance, then those items should be given back to their rightful owners. This teaches us to always respect other people's property and belongings even after they have passed away. Finally, this hadith reminds us of Allah's mercy; He rewards those who do good deeds no matter how small they may seem.
