The Impermissibility of Taking Back Charity

SUMMARY: It is not permissible to take back a charity or alms that has been given in the way of Allah.

Narrated 'Abdallah bin Umar : 'Umar bin Al Khattab gave a horse as alms in the way of Allah. He then found it being sold, and intended to buy it. So he asked the Messenger of Allah about this. He said Do not buy it, and do not take back your sadaqah.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks about the importance of giving charity and alms in the way of Allah. It teaches us that once we have given something as charity, it should not be taken back. This is because taking back a donation or gift after it has been given away is prohibited according to Islamic teachings. We should always remember that whatever we give away as charity will be rewarded by Allah and will benefit us in this life and the hereafter. Therefore, we should strive to give more and more in charity so that our rewards are multiplied manifold.
