Sunan Abi Dawud 1170 (Book 3, Hadith 10) #21462
Raising Hands in Prayer for Rain

SUMMARY: The Prophet (peace be upon him) would raise his hands high when praying for rain, so much so that the whiteness of his armpits was visible.

Narrated Anas: The Prophet (peace be upon him) was not accustomed to raise his hands in any supplication he made except when praying for rain. He would then raise them high enough so much so that the whiteness of his armpits was visible.

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by Anas tells us about the Prophet's practice of raising his hands high when praying for rain. This is a sign of humility and submission to Allah, as it shows that we are asking Him for something and relying on His mercy. It also serves as an example to us, showing us how we should pray in times of need. We should remember that Allah is always listening and will answer our prayers if He wills it. We must also have faith that He will provide what is best for us even if it may not be what we asked for initially.
