Sunan Abi Dawud 1093 (Book 2, Hadith 704) #21385
The Prophet's Preaching Style

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to deliver sermons standing, and anyone who says otherwise is lying.

Jabir b. Samurah said: The Messenger of Allah used to deliver the sermon standing, then he would sit down, then stand and preach standing. If anyone tells you he preached sitting, he is lying. I swear by Allah that I offered along with more than two thousand prayers.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith speaks of the preaching style of the Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him. It is narrated by Jabir b. Samurah that the Messenger of Allah used to deliver his sermon while standing up, and then he would sit down before standing up again to preach some more. He also said that anyone who claims otherwise is lying, as he himself has offered more than two thousand prayers with the Prophet in this manner. This hadith teaches us that we should always strive to follow in the footsteps of our beloved prophet and emulate his example in all aspects of life including how we preach or give lectures on religious matters. We should also be careful not to spread false information about him or any other prophets for that matter as it can lead us astray from our faith and cause confusion among people.
