Respect elders , Persevere in prayer and recitation of Quranic verses .

This hadith speaks about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of reciting a whole surah from the Quran during one rak'a of his prayer. It also mentions that when he became old, he would pray while sitting down. This shows us that even though we should strive to perform our prayers standing up, if we are unable to do so due to age or illness then it is permissible for us to pray while sitting down instead. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to recite long portions from the Quran during our prayers as this was something that was practiced by the Prophet himself.
