Prayer Habits of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH)

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) used to pray standing and sitting for a long time, and when he prayed standing he bowed standing, and when he prayed sitting he bowed sitting.

'A’ishah said: The Messenger of Allah used to pray standing at night for a long time, and used to pray sitting at night for a long time. When he prayed standing, he bowed standing, and when he prayed sitting, he bowed sitting.

QUICK LESSONS:
Be devoted to your prayers consistently .

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Aishah tells us about the prayer habits of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). He used to pray both standing and sitting for a long time, and when he prayed standing, he would bow while still in that position. Similarly, when praying while seated, he would bow while still seated. This teaches us that we should be consistent in our prayers; whether we are praying while standing or seated we should always remember to bow during our prayers. It also shows us how devoted the Prophet was to his prayers; even though it was late at night, his devotion did not waver as evidenced by his lengthy prayer times.
