Moderation in Prostration

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) advised people to adopt a moderate position when prostrating themselves and not to stretch out their forearms like a dog.

Anas reported the Messenger of Allah as saying; Adopt a moderate position when prostrating yourselves, and see that none of you stretches out his forearms(on the ground) like a dog.
حَدَّثَنَا مُسْلِمُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، حَدَّثَنَا شُعْبَةُ، عَنْ قَتَادَةَ، عَنْ أَنَسٍ، أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ قَالَ ‏ "‏ اعْتَدِلُوا فِي السُّجُودِ وَلاَ يَفْتَرِشْ أَحَدُكُمْ ذِرَاعَيْهِ افْتِرَاشَ الْكَلْبِ
