Sunan Abi Dawud 712 (Book 2, Hadith 322) #21003
Praying at Night with Respect

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) used to pray at night and would sometimes hit his wife A'ishah's legs while prostrating, so she would draw them up.

'A’ishah said: I used to sleep with my legs in front of the Messenger of Allah when he would offer his prayer at night (ie tahajjud prayer offered towards the end of the night). When he prostrated himself he struck my legs, and I drew them up and he then prostrated.

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the Prophet Muhammad's practice of praying at night. He was very respectful of his wife A'ishah and when he prostrated during prayer, he would sometimes hit her legs accidentally. She would then draw them up so that he could continue praying without any interruption. This hadith teaches us the importance of respect in our relationships with others, especially those closest to us like family members or spouses. It also shows us how important it is to be mindful of our actions and how they can affect those around us, even if we don't mean for it to happen. We should always strive to be respectful in all aspects of our lives and treat others with kindness and consideration.
