Follow in footsteps of Prophet Muhammad PBUH when conducting prayers; Be orderly & organized when praying as a group or congregation; Respect elders by having them stand at front of congregation during prayer; Allow younger members to stand behind elders during prayers

This hadith narrates how the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) conducted prayer. He would have an iqamah announced, draw up the men in line, and draw up the youths behind them. He then mentioned how he conducted it, saying “Thus is the prayer of my people”. This hadith teaches us that we should follow in his footsteps when conducting our prayers; to be orderly and organized when praying as a group or congregation. It also teaches us to respect our elders by having them stand at the front of a congregation during prayer, while allowing younger members to stand behind them.
