Seeking Refuge From Allah

SUMMARY: Seeking refuge from Allah from being overwhelmed by debt, overpowered by the enemy, and the enemy rejoicing at one's misfortune.

It was narrated from 'Abdullah bin 'Amr that : The Messenger of Allah SAW used to say supplication in these words: "Allahumma inni a'udhu bika min ghalabatid-dain, wa ghalabatil-'aduwwi, wa shamatatil-a'da' (O Allah, I seek refuge with You from being overwhelmed by debt and from being overpowered by the enemy, and from the enemy rejoicing at my misfortune)"
أَخْبَرَنَا يُونُسُ بْنُ عَبْدِ الأَعْلَى، قَالَ أَنْبَأَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، قَالَ قَالَ حُيَىٌّ حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ الْحُبُلِيُّ، عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو، أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَدْعُو بِهَؤُلاَءِ الْكَلِمَاتِ ‏ "‏ اللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ غَلَبَةِ الدَّيْنِ وَشَمَاتَةِ الأَعْدَاءِ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about seeking refuge from Allah in times of difficulty. The Prophet Muhammad [SAW] taught us to make supplications to Allah in times of need and distress. He taught us to seek refuge with Him from being overwhelmed by debt, overpowered by the enemy, and the enemy rejoicing at our misfortune. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah for help when we are facing difficult situations or hardships in life. We should never forget that He is always there for us and will help us if we ask Him sincerely. It also teaches us that even though our enemies may be powerful or have more resources than we do, they cannot harm us if we seek protection with Allah Almighty.
