Seeking Refuge From Allah

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (SAW) used to seek refuge from Allah from stinginess, cowardice, the trials of the heart and the torment of the grave.

It was narrated that 'Amr bin Maimun said: "The Companions of Muhammad SAW told me that the Messenger of Allah SAW used to seek refuge with Allah from stinginess, cowardice, the trials of the heart and the torment of the grave".
أَخْبَرَنِي هِلاَلُ بْنُ الْعَلاَءِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حُسَيْنٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا زُهَيْرٌ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو إِسْحَاقَ، عَنْ عَمْرِو بْنِ مَيْمُونٍ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنِي أَصْحَابُ، مُحَمَّدٍ أَنَّ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَانَ يَتَعَوَّذُ مِنَ الشُّحِّ وَالْجُبْنِ وَفِتْنَةِ الصَّدْرِ وَعَذَابِ الْقَبْرِ

EXPLANATIONS:
The hadith narrated by 'Amr bin Maimun tells us that Prophet Muhammad ﷺ used to seek refuge with Allah from stinginess, cowardice, the trials of the heart and the torment of the grave. This hadith teaches us that we should always turn to Allah for protection and guidance in times when we feel weak or helpless. It also reminds us that even though we may not be able to see it now, there will be a time after death when our actions will be judged by God. Therefore, it is important for us to strive towards righteousness in this life so that we can receive His mercy in our afterlife. Furthermore, this hadith encourages us to stay away from traits such as stinginess and cowardice which are seen as negative qualities in Islam.
