Wearing a Nose Made of Gold

SUMMARY: The Prophet (SAW) advised a man to wear a nose made of gold after his original nose was cut off in battle.

It was narrated from 'Arafah bin As'ad that: His nose was cut off at the battle of Al-Kulab during the Jahiliyyah, so he wore a nose made of silver, but it began to rot, so the Prophet SAW told him to wear a nose made of gold.

QUICK LESSONS:
Follow advice from Prophet Muhammad SAW .

EXPLANATIONS:
During the time of Jahiliyyah ('ignorance'), 'Arafah bin As'ad was involved in a battle known as Al-Kulab and his nose was cut off. To replace it he wore one made out of silver but it began to rot so the Prophet Muhammad SAW advised him to wear one made out of gold instead. This hadith teaches us that even during times when people are engaging in violence and war, we should still strive for beauty and excellence in our lives. It also shows us that the Prophet SAW cared deeply about people's physical appearance and well-being even during difficult times.
