Narrated Abu Huraira: I heard Allah's Messenger saying regarding Ramadan, "Whoever prayed at night in it (the month of Ramadan) out of sincere Faith and hoping for a reward from Allah, then all his previous sins will be forgiven".

This hadith tells us that if we do so, then all our previous sins will be forgiven by Allah. This shows us how powerful prayer can be during this blessed month and how much mercy Allah has on His servants who turn to Him in repentance and seek His forgiveness.
