Punishment for Unmeasured Food Transactions

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the punishment given to people who buy food unmeasured and sell it before bringing it to their own camp.

It was narrated from Salim that his father said: "I saw people being beaten (in punishment) at the time of the Messenger of Allah for buying food unmeasured and selling it before bringing it to their own camp".

QUICK LESSONS:

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith talks about the punishment given to people who buy food unmeasured and sell it before bringing it to their own camp. This was seen by Salim's father during the time of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. It is important that when buying or selling goods, they should be measured properly so that both parties are satisfied with the transaction. If not, then there will be consequences as seen in this hadith. People should also make sure that they do not take advantage of others in any way while making transactions as this is considered a sin in Islam and can lead to punishments from Allah SWT.
