Equal Amounts of Gold

SUMMARY: The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that gold should be given in equal amounts.

It was narrated that 'Ubadah bin As-Samit said: "I heard the Messenger of Allah say: 'Gold, equal amount"'. (One of the narrators) Yaqub did not mention: "Equal amount". Muawiyah said: "This does not mean anything"'.Ubadah said; "By Allah I do not care if I am in a land where Muawiyah is not present. I bear witness that I heard the Messenger of Allah say that".
أَخْبَرَنِي هَارُونُ بْنُ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا أَبُو أُسَامَةَ، قَالَ قَالَ إِسْمَاعِيلُ حَدَّثَنَا حَكِيمُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، ح وَأَنْبَأَنَا يَعْقُوبُ بْنُ إِبْرَاهِيمَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا يَحْيَى، عَنْ إِسْمَاعِيلَ، قَالَ حَدَّثَنَا حَكِيمُ بْنُ جَابِرٍ، عَنْ عُبَادَةَ بْنِ الصَّامِتِ، قَالَ سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ‏"‏ الذَّهَبُ الْكِفَّةُ بِالْكِفَّةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ وَلَمْ يَذْكُرْ يَعْقُوبُ ‏"‏ الْكِفَّةُ بِالْكِفَّةِ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ فَقَالَ مُعَاوِيَةُ إِنَّ هَذَا لاَ يَقُولُ شَيْئًا ‏.‏ قَالَ عُبَادَةُ إِنِّي وَاللَّهِ مَا أُبَالِي أَنْ لاَ أَكُونَ بِأَرْضٍ يَكُونُ بِهَا مُعَاوِيَةُ إِنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنِّي سَمِعْتُ رَسُولَ اللَّهِ يَقُولُ ذَلِكَ

EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith is about the importance of equality when it comes to giving gold. The Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) taught that when giving gold, it should be done in equal amounts. 'Ubadah bin As-Samit heard this from the Messenger of Allah and was so sure of its truth that he said he would bear witness to it even if Muawiyah was not present. This hadith teaches us the importance of fairness and equality, especially when dealing with money or other valuable items. It also shows us how important it is to follow the teachings of the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). We must always strive to do what is right and just, no matter who may disagree with us or try to stop us from doing so.
