Eating Food Not Blessed By Allah's Name

SUMMARY: The hadith is about the argument between the idolaters and Muslims regarding eating food that has not been blessed by Allah's name.

Harun bin Abi Walki-who is Harun bin 'Antarah -narrated from his father, form Ibn 'Abbas, concerning the saying of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime: "Eat not of that on which Allah's name has not been pronounced" - that he said: "The idolaters argued with them and said: 'Whatever Allah kills you do not eat, and whatever you kill you eat!"

QUICK LESSONS:
Eat food that has been blessed with Allah's name
EXPLANATIONS:
This hadith discusses an argument between the idolaters and Muslims regarding eating food that has not been blessed by Allah's name. The idolaters argued that whatever Allah kills, they should not eat, but whatever they kill themselves, they can eat. However, this goes against what is taught in Islam which is to only eat food that has been blessed with Allah's name. This teaches us to be mindful of what we consume and to always seek blessings from God before consuming anything. It also teaches us to be respectful of other people’s beliefs even if we do not agree with them as long as it does not go against Islamic teachings or values.
